Cascades, Continuous, Aqueous (2026)
Description: Pinhole photography pigment ink gel transfers mounted on custom neutral grey board
Details:
Pinhole photograph, 120 film. Inkjet image transfer via acrylic gel medium on gesso panel. Artwork 20×16 inches. Unframed.
Cascades, Continuous, Aqueous originates from a single physical collage exposed under continuous and colored light sources using a custom pinhole camera.
The resulting exposures were converted into five discrete pigment transfers and mounted onto a custom 20×16 inch neutral grey board in an asymmetric, off-center layout. Rather than treating the composition as a static grid, the spatial arrangement creates a visual tipping motion across the panel field, contrasting geometric structure with the spontaneous, physical traces of the transfer process.
Through paper reduction, acrylic index matching, and manual sealing, the water-based pigment transfers sit within dedicated white islands surrounded by the neutral grey field. Ambient room light interacts directly with the glossy transfer surfaces and matte substrate, creating luminous visual contrast across the assembled cluster.
